Connect XEKTA to your AI assistant

XEKTA lets your assistant order from local restaurants and grocery stores for pickup. You approve every order, and your card is charged when you collect it.

What XEKTA does

XEKTA is a remote MCP server. Once it is connected, your assistant can search nearby shops, build a cart, ask you to approve it, place the order, and track it until you pick it up. Shops get the order on Telegram, WhatsApp or the XEKTA web dashboard.

Today XEKTA Market covers grocery and restaurant pickup in our pilot areas (San Francisco and Northern Virginia). Delivery, appointments and retail are not live yet.

Connect

The server address is the same for every assistant:

https://mcp.xekta.com/mcp

The connection uses OAuth. There is no API key to paste and nothing to install.

Claude (web, desktop and mobile)

  1. Open this link. It opens Add custom connector with the name and address filled in. You can also go to Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector and paste the address yourself.
  2. Check that the address is https://mcp.xekta.com/mcp, then select Continue.
  3. Sign in to XEKTA (or create an account) and allow access.
  4. In a new chat, make sure XEKTA is turned on in the tools menu.

ChatGPT

  1. On a computer, open ChatGPT in a web browser and go to Plugins, then Add → Add custom MCP server. On a phone the link opens the ChatGPT app, which can't add custom servers.
  2. Name it XEKTA, paste https://mcp.xekta.com/mcp as the server URL and keep OAuth.
  3. Tick I understand and want to continue, then Create as a plugin.
  4. Sign in to XEKTA (or create an account) and allow access. Then install the plugin and use it in a chat.

Whether your ChatGPT plan or workspace can add custom MCP servers is set by OpenAI and your workspace admin.

Other MCP clients

Any client that supports remote MCP servers over Streamable HTTP with OAuth can connect. Point it at the address above. After connecting, your assistant should read the resource xekta://docs/start-here first.

Your account

The first time you connect, you create a XEKTA account at mcp.xekta.com/account. You:

  1. add and verify your phone number,
  2. accept the Terms of Use,
  3. save a payment card. The card is stored by Stripe, and XEKTA never sees the full number.

Your assistant cannot do these steps for you. If it tries to order before they are done, it will send you a link to finish them.

How an order works

  1. Ask. Tell your assistant what you want and roughly where you are.
  2. Review. It finds a shop that is open, builds the cart and shows you the items, prices, tax and total.
  3. Approve. Nothing is bought until you approve. You approve in a confirmation box your assistant shows you, or on a XEKTA approval page signed in as yourself. Orders over $200 are always approved on the page. Your assistant cannot approve for you, and each approval covers one exact cart: if the cart changes, you approve again.
  4. Hold. Once you approve, the order is placed and your card is held for the total. It is not charged yet.
  5. Pick up. The shop prepares the order and marks it ready; ask your assistant for the status at any time. Show your pickup code at the counter. Your card is charged when the shop hands the order over.

If the shop cancels, or does not respond within 10 minutes, the hold is released and you are not charged. You can cancel for free until the shop starts preparing. If an order is ready and you don't collect it within the pickup window, the full amount may be charged. Within 24 hours after pickup you can request a refund from your order page at mcp.xekta.com/account; the shop decides.

Example prompts

Find a bakery near me that's open now for pickup and show me what they have.

I need milk, eggs and a loaf of bread. Build a pickup order at the closest grocery store.

Compare the price of a dozen eggs across XEKTA shops.

Where's my XEKTA order? Is it ready?

Cancel my last XEKTA order.

Tools

These are the tools a buyer's assistant uses. "Read" tools only look things up. "Write" tools change a cart or an order. Placing an order also needs your approval first.

Troubleshooting

The assistant says XEKTA isn't connected, or asks me to sign in again

Open your assistant's connector settings, disconnect XEKTA and connect it again. Then start a new chat.

The assistant doesn't use XEKTA

Check that XEKTA is turned on in the chat's tools menu, and mention it by name: "Use XEKTA to…".

"Finish setting up your account"

Your phone, terms or card step isn't done. Follow the link the assistant gives you, or go to mcp.xekta.com/account.

No shops found

XEKTA is only in our pilot areas for now. Give the assistant a street address or ZIP code so it can sort shops by distance. Shops that are closed right now are shown with their opening time.

The confirmation box didn't appear

Some apps can't show it. Your assistant will give you an approval link instead. Open it, check the cart, and approve there.

My card was declined

Ask the assistant to set up a new card, or replace it on your account page. Then ask it to try again.

Data and privacy

XEKTA receives what your assistant sends in tool calls (your request, cart and location if you give one) and the account details you enter. We do not read your other conversations. Card data stays with Stripe. The Privacy Policy lists what we collect, who we share it with (the shop that fills your order, and our payment and messaging providers) and how long we keep it. You can delete your account at any time.
